SIKESTON -- Mamie King, 83, of Sikeston, died Monday, June 17, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 8, 1912, in LaForge, daughter of Newt J. and Pearl Holden McRoy. He and Paul E. King were married July 6, 1935, at LaForge. He died Oct. 1, 1976.
King was a cook at LaForge Schools. She was a member of Farrenburg Baptist Church, and had been active in the Foster Grandparents program at Kenny Rogers CP Center.
Survivors include three sisters, Lorene Higgerson of New Madrid, Pearline Ferrell of Morehouse, Virginia Luhn of St. Louis, and a nephew with whom she resided, Larry McRoy of Sikeston.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Harold Gass officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
