Malone O. "Pete" Penrod, 75, 930 W. Cape Rock Drive, died Monday, Feb. 24, 1997, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born March 26, 1921, at Indian Creek, son of Lee and Wanda Young Penrod. He and Marjorie Lange were married Nov. 8, 1942, at Union.
Penrod was a machinist at Marquette Cement Co. 15 years. He was a member and elder of Trinity Lutheran Church at Egypt Mills, and helped organize its perpetual care trust fund. Penrod was a member of VFW Post 3838. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Joe Penrod of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a daughter, Carolyn Reineke of St. Louis; two brothers, Robert Penrod of Cape Girardeau, William Penrod of Fruitland; two sisters, Mary Noblitt of Black Canyon City, Ariz., Betty Hoffmeister of Jackson; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with Pastor Mark Martin officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Church Cemetery at Egypt Mills.
