Margarette M. "Maggie" Williams, 92, of Gordonville passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born July 21, 1924, in Gordonville to Martin and Clara Eggers Hanschen. She and John R. Williams were married Sept. 20, 1947, in Gordonville. They had been married 57 years when John passed away Jan. 4, 2005...

Margarette M. "Maggie" Williams, 92, of Gordonville passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 21, 1924, in Gordonville to Martin and Clara Eggers Hanschen. She and John R. Williams were married Sept. 20, 1947, in Gordonville. They had been married 57 years when John passed away Jan. 4, 2005.

Maggie worked many years at the former International Shoe Factory in Jackson. She was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville.

She is survived by four sisters-in-law, Peggy (the late Pete) Hanschen of Gordonville, Mildred (the late Aaron) Helderman of Whitewater, Jean (Ray) Green of Crump and Flora (the late Earl) Wiseman of Crump; a brother-in-law, the Rev. Clifton (the late Irene) Trentham of Marble Hill, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Ed (Evelyn) Hanschen, Walter (Jessie) Hanschen, Martin "Pete" Hanschen, Sarah (Ben) Borchelt and Minnie (Louis) Whitler; and a brother-in-law, James "Jr." (Euva) Williams.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Mark Boettcher officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Christ Lutheran Church.
