EAST PRAIRIE -- Maggie Lee Brooks, 75, of East Prairie, died Thursday, April 23, 1992 at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
She was born April 29, 1916 in Greenfield, Tenn., daughter of Obie and Lilly Marcus Chillcutt. She moved to Mississippi County in 1960.
She married Selkirk Austin Brooks, who preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1973. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Ridgely, Tenn. and attended the First General Baptist Church in East Prairie.
Survivors are one son, Russell Brooks of Mountain Home, Ark.; one daughter, Frances Marie Marks of East Prairie; two sisters, Allie Reynolds and Edna Shoats, both of Memphis; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son and two brothers.
Friends may call after 5:30 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ernest Brown officiating. Graveside service is at 2 p.m. at the New Haven Cemetery near Ridgley, Tenn.
