BREWER -- Magdalena Mary Mattingly, 94, of Brewer died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 5, 1903, in Perry County, daughter of Barice and Mary Mattingly Mattingly. She and Bernie Mattingly were married June 15, 1921. He preceded her in death July 15, 1982.
She was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer and the Blessed Sacrament Sodality.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin Mattingly of Indianapolis, Ind. and Donald Mattingly of Perryville; three daughters, Ida May Berkbuegler of St. Mary, Velda Schremp of Perryville and Carroll Verseman of Chester, Ill.; 29 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville from 4-9 p.m. Thursday and from 6:30-9:30 a.m. Friday. A wake will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer. The Rev. Felipe Martinez will officiate, with burial at Mount Hope Cemetery.
