MARBLE HILL -- Maebelle Hawkins, 86, of Marble Hill, died Tuesday, July 23, 1991, at Bond Nursing Care Center.
She was born Feb. 19, 1905, in Double Springs, Ala., daughter of Columbus and Tempie Whitlow Cagle. She married Willie Richardson in 1919, who preceded her in death. She later married Phillip Hawkins, who also preceded her in death.
Hawkins moved here in 1955 from Venice, Ill. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church here.
Survivors include three sons, Jim and Charles Richardson of Osceola, Ark., Joe Hawkins of Owensboro, Ky.; five daughters, Ruth Cutbirth and Laverne Philpot of Cincinnati, Ohio, Reyth Stallings of Granite City, Ill., Dorothy Strickland of Napoleonville, La., Betty Hawkins of Norman, Okla.; a brother, Elmer Cagle of Cincinnati; two sisters, Bessie Duffield of Waterloo, Ill., Mary Reagan of Cincinnati; 24 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Richardson, and six brothers.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Pentecostal Church. The Revs. David Jackson and Paul Cagle will officiate, with burial in Cook Cemetery at Scopus.
