DELTA -- Mae Sarah Darby, 87, of Delta, died Thursday, July 28, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 31, 1907, at Sedgewickville, daughter of James Louis and Amanda A. Green Seabaugh. She first married Ira Richard Gibbons Feb. 24, 1927. He died July 7, 1942. She later married Walter Lee Darby May 16, 1963. He died May 11, 1988.
Darby retired as a cook with Delta Public Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Delta Senior Citizens Club.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Gibbons of Chaffee, James Gibbons of Leopold; three daughters, Yonetta Moore of Delta, Thelma Beckette of Cape Girardeau, Iraena Brown of Beaverville, Ill.; three sisters, Annie Cook of Sedgewickville, Maggie Killian of Patton, Iva Stone of Marquand; 21 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, and six great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Billie Butler officiating. Burial will be in Kenyon Cemetery at Delta.
