CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Mae R. Levill, 75, of Charleston, formerly of Cairo, Ill., died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at her home.
She was born May 30, 1927, at East Prairie, Mo., daughter of Ewing G. and Bertha Elder Showmaker. She and Vergil "Dude" Levill were married in June 1948. He died March 5, 1978.
She moved to Charleston in 1990, having lived in Cairo most of her life, where she owned and operated Levill Pest Control until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Cairo, the Cairo Ladies Auxiliary and Beta Sigma Phi. She also worked for the Cairo Police Department as a clerk.
Survivors include four daughters, Marsha Kern of Cape Girardeau, Deborah Galemore and Kris Wilkerson, both of Charleston, and Diana Blankenship of Barlow, Ky.; one sister, Thelma Peters of Bertrand, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Potts officiating. Burial will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Villa Ridge, Ill.
