Mae E. Ackman, 93, of Jackson died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at the home of a niece.
She was born June 26, 1912, at Neelys Landing, daughter of John and Maud Sides Ackman.
Ackman worked at the former International Shoe Co. in Jackson from 1942 to 1972. She then home sat with the elderly and disabled in the Jackson community. She was a lifelong member of New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas.
Survivors include two brothers, Thomas "Bud" Ackman of Cape Girardeau, John Ackman of Belleville, Ill.; and a sister, Norma Corse of Fruitland.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery.
