GALATIA, Ill. -- Madge Tate, 83, of Galatia died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home at Galatia.
She was born May 24, 1916, at Saline County, Ill., daughter of Robert and Naoma Towle Tucker. She and George Ivan "G.I." Tate were married Oct. 18, 1936. He died March 16, 1999.
She was a member of the Long Branch Baptist Church at Galatia.
Survivors include a brother, Robert Tucker of Eldorado; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Sloan Funeral Home at Galatia.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Gilmore and Dr. James Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow at Tates Chapel Cemetery.
