Madelyn Schmucker, daughter of the Rev. Peggy Adams of Texas and the late Rev. Frederick Schmucker, was born Feb. 29, 1960, in Texas and departed this life Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 60 years.
She loved to gather with family and will be remembered for her kind and gentle soul. She especially loved her children. In her younger years she loved camping and hiking, playing guitar, and had a deep appreciation of music.
Madelyn was a self-employed property manager and a resident of Cape Girardeau.
In June 1994 she was united in marriage to Allan Lee Sample in Cape Girardeau.
Besides her husband and mother, survivors include a son, Zachary Sample of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Megan Sample of Cape Girardeau; brother, Fred Schmucker Jr.; three sisters, Helen Spencer, Margaret Schmucker and Rebecca Schmucker.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beth Schmucker.
Memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
Arrangements were conducted by the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
