Beloved brother Mack Edward Varnon of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Landmark Hospital, following a long illness.
Mack is the son of John and Pauline Varnon, both deceased, of Scott City. He is survived by one son, Jim Varnon of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Tony (Janet) Varnon of Cape Girardeau and Richard (Suzanne) Varnon of Memphis, Tennessee; and five sisters, Deloris (Joe) Raffety of Clarksville, Tennessee, Mary Sue (Bill) Stacy of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Betty (Bob) Cruse of St. Louis, Nita (Toby) Roodman of Pacific Grove, California, and Patt (Stephen) Sharp of Kennett, Missouri.
Mack was preceded in death by a son, Michael Varnon of St. Louis, and two brothers, Stanley Varnon of St. Louis and John Sam Varnon Jr. of Harviell, Missouri.
Mack is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Before retiring, he was employed as a computer programmer for Missouri Pacific Railroad in St. Louis.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. At 7 p.m., a memorial service will follow at the chapel.
Interment at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri, is scheduled for a later date.
