Mabel Whitley

Anna Mary "Mabel" Whitley, 98, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born July 8, 1923, in Egypt Mills to Ernest and Mary Fornkohl Rodenberry. She and Lorenzo Whitley were married May 15, 1965, in Cape Girardeau.

Mabel was of the Lutheran faith. She raised her children and also watched after the neighborhood children.

Survivors include three daughters, Patty Brown of Cape Girardeau, Marilyn McClard of Chaffee, Missouri, and Vicki Henderson of Villa Ridge, Illinois; son, Dan Hahn of Cape Girardeau; stepdaughter, Kathy Williams of Cape Girardeau; 13 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five great-stepgrandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Paul Hahn; two brothers, Willie and John Rodenberry; and two infant sisters, Icey and Irene Rodenberry.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at noon Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Thompson Cemetery in Egypt Mills.
