CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Mabel Belle Thompson, 100, of Chaffee died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 29, 1902, in Leachville, Ark., daughter of John Lumpkins. She and Robert A. Andrews Sr. were married in 1923. She and Raymond Gill were married in 1929. He died in 1961. She later married William T. Thompson in 1962. He died March 16, 1999.
Thompson had been a cook and waitress at Mabel's Cafe. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert Andrews of Jonesboro, Ill.; a stepson, James Gill of St. Peters, Mo.; two brothers, John Lumpkins of Cahokia, Ill., Jack Lumpkins of St. Louis; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 11 a.m. Friday.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Watis Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
