MABEL G. VANCIL

ALTO PASS, Ill. -- Mabel G. Vancil, 89, of Alto Pass died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born Nov. 21, 1910, in Alto Pass, the daughter of Hiram Abraham and Minnie Izora Minton Norton. She and Radcliff Allen Vancil were married Aug. 1, 1936, in Pontiac, Mich. He died Jan. 5, 1998.

Vancil was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alto Pass, serving as a Sunday school teacher for 35 years and as treasurer for several years. She served the church in various other capacities and was a member of the church's Women's Missionary Union. She had a 45-year perfect attendance record for Sunday school.

Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Alto Pass.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Danny Miller and Bobby Norton officiating. Burial will be at Alto Pass Cemetery.
