Mabel Irene Criddle, 84, 1015 Haddock, died Monday, April 14, 1997, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services. She was born Aug. 4, 1912, at Oak Ridge, daughter of Bennett and Carrie Suhr Kester. She and James Wade Criddle were married Dec. 21, 1929, at Jackson. He died April 27, 1987...

Mabel Irene Criddle, 84, 1015 Haddock, died Monday, April 14, 1997, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services.

She was born Aug. 4, 1912, at Oak Ridge, daughter of Bennett and Carrie Suhr Kester. She and James Wade Criddle were married Dec. 21, 1929, at Jackson. He died April 27, 1987.

Criddle worked in housekeeping at Central High School from 1961-77. She was a member of Maple United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women.

Survivors include three sons, Frank, Paul and James Criddle, all of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Barbara Yallaly and Ethel Mize of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, John Kester of Cape Girardeau, Fate Kester of Oak Ridge; a half brother, John Kester of Oak Ridge; a half sister, Quanita Moore of Oak Ridge; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. John Gregory officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
