ADVANCE, Mo. -- Mabel Louise "Bobbie" Bogad, 83, of St. Robert, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Mo.
She was born April 3, 1920, in Advance, daughter of Benjamin and Ada Pixley Croy. She and Frank Joseph Bogad were married June 16, 1951, in St. Louis.
Bogad was a 1938 graduate of Advance High School. She was a switchboard operator in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, attaining the rank of corporal.
She was a long time member of St. Robert Bellamine Catholic Church and its Altar Society. She was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 5401 Ladies Auxiliary and received the Lady of the Year award in 1988.
Survivors include her husband; two sisters, Addie Umfleet and Ella Smith of Sacramento, Calif.
She was preceded in death by three sisters.
Funeral Mass was held Dec. 9 at St. Robert Bellamine Church, with the Revs. John Groner and Brendan Lawless officiating. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery at St. Robert, with military honors by the U.S. Marine Corps at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
Waynesville Memorial Chapel in Waynesville, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.
