Lynn Pinkston Hutson, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born April 6, 1911, in Cape Girardeau, son of Nathaniel Jefferson and Amanda Catherine Smith Hutson. He and Jackie Lomax were married Oct. 3, 1944, in Cape Girardeau.
Lynn was a lifetime resident of Cape Girardeau, and attended Southeast Missouri State University 3 1/2 years.
He was a bookkeeper for Kelso Oil Co. 15 years, before and after serving in the U.S. Navy. He joined his brother, Glenn, in founding Hutson Furniture and was with the furniture store until 1996.
Lynn was a member of First Baptist Church and its Keystone Sunday School Class, VFW Post 3838, American Legion Post 63, Chamber of Commerce, and was founder and president of Running Bare Club.
He was in the Navy from Nov. 21, 1942, to Nov. 20, 1945, serving in the South Pacific.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Anne Hutson of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Linda Hutson of St. Louis; a grandson, Jason Lynn Hutson of Cape Girardeau; and a granddaughter and husband, Robin and Jim Black of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and four sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Charles Blaylock and Jim Herod will officiate. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 3838.
Pallbearers will be Charles, Jim, David, Chris and Jason Hutson, Dick Hammond, Jim Blatt, Nick Korff, Mike Lomax, Ed Meadows and John Bell.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army Food Pantry or Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation.
