Lester "Lynn" Fitzpatrick, 67, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 1, 2020, at his home.

He was born Nov. 28, 1952, in Cairo, Illinois, to Cecil A. and Wanda Poe Fitzpatrick.

He was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School, where he participated in football and wrestling. He received a bachelor's degree from Southeast Missouri State University.

He worked and retired from Philip Morris after 23 years of employment.

He was devoted to his friends and enjoyed evenings with them. He enjoyed fishing and sports of all kinds. He managed and played in the Cape Girardeau flag football league for several years. He was also an avid reader, especially military history.

Survivors include his sister, Cecile (William) Busch of Cape Girardeau; brother, Jon Fitzpatrick of Cape Girardeau; niece, Stacy (Chris) Busch-Heisserer of Cape Girardeau; and great-nephew, Brayden Heisserer. He is also survived by a maternal aunt, Iris Jackson of Cape Girardeau and her family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Memorial visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

There will be no formal service.

Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
