Lynn Paul Ainsworth, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at his home. He was born Sept. 26, 1948, in Cape Girardeau to Leon Parker and Allene Edna Siemers Ainsworth. Lynn Paul Ainsworth, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at his home.

He was born Sept. 26, 1948, in Cape Girardeau to Leon Parker and Allene Edna Siemers Ainsworth.

Lynn Paul married Charlotte Taylor Ainsworth April 3, 1981.

He lived in Cape Girardeau; Kansas City, Missouri; St. Louis; Foley, Alabama; and back to Cape Girardeau. Lynn attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School, College High and Southeast Missouri State University and Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.

He held several manager positions for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and Southwestern Bell Yellow Pages. He retired in 1991 after 25 years of service.

After retiring, he and Charlotte traveled most of the 48 states. They spent years fishing and boating at Lake of the Ozarks. He was happiest when he was with his family. Lynn and Charlotte made lifelong friends while working and traveling.

Lynn was a member of Gulf Coast Elks Lodge No. 2782 and was past Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge 9 in Creve Coeur, Missouri.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Taylor Ainsworth of Cape Girardeau; mother, Allene Edna Siemers Ainsworth of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Lee Ann Ainsworth (Randy) Brugger of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Staci Brugger of Cape Girardeau and Ryan (Morgan) Brugger of Gordonville; two great-grandchildren, August and Vincent Brugger; stepson, Todd (Denice) Stitt of Rison, Arkansas; two stepgrandchildren, Taylor and Drew Stitt of Rison; great-stepgrandchild, Delta Stitt of Rison; brother, David (Teresa) Ainsworth of Honeoye Falls, New York; niece, Aspen (Dan) Ainsworth-Rubin of Rochester, New York; nephew, Austin Ainsworth of Buffalo, New York; sister-in-law, Shelia (Max) Woodfin of Austin, Texas; and two stepnephews, Dabbs (Lizebe) Woodfin and Ran (Carly) Woodfin.

Lynn was preceded in death by his father, Leon Parker Ainsworth, and a daughter, Monica Lynn (Roger) Popp.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 26 at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Feb. 26 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stan Hargis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of choice.
