MATTHEWS, Mo. -- Lyman Whitten, 88, of Matthews died Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at his home.
He was born July 31, 1916, in Sikeston, Mo., son of John Lawrence and Francis Gardner Whitten. He and Jewel Latham were married Nov. 22, 1942, in Charleston, Mo.
Whitten was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John Whitten of Sikeston, Danny "Pete" Whitten of Matthews; four daughters, Deene Ford of Matthews, Rosetta Colley of Sikeston, Cherie Wilson of East Prairie, Mo., Rita Jakes of Old Hickory, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Edward Wells officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
