CHARLESTON -- Funeral service for Lyman Estes of Essex, formerly of Charleston, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Danny Tackett will officiate, with burial in IOOF Cemetery near here.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5:30 p.m. today.

Estes, 78 years old, died Tuesday, March 5, 1991, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 23, 1912, at Scopus, son of Jesse Lee and Inola Welker Estes. He had lived in Essex 15 years, and was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include three sons, Roy Estes of Farmington, Jacob Estes of East Prairie, Jerry Estes of Mounds, Ill.; four daughters, Mabel Gardner of Clarksville, Tenn., Fay Villars of Story, Ark., Karen Skinner of Boaz, Ky., Debbie Jackson of Clinton, Ky.; a brother, Lindell Estes of Charleston Route 2; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers and a sister.
