CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Lydia Almedia Sanders of Chaffee died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born the daughter of Peter Monroe and Barbara A. Betteau Craig. She and George R. Sanders were married March 28, 1942. He died Jan. 2, 1980.
Sanders graduated from Lutesville High School. She was a retired machine operator at Buckstein Parts Factory in Chaffee and retired private duty nurse. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chaffee.
Survivors include one son, the Rev. James R. Sanders of St. Charles, Mo.; four daughters, Judith Beaman of Lawson, Mo., Janis and Betty Eftink of Oran, Mo., and Ruth Ann Cave of Advance, Mo.; two brothers, Ivan Craig of Scott City, Mo., and Paul Craig of Tipton, Ind.; two sisters, Comfort Craig of Cape Girardeau and Ruth Harlan of Pasadena, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one grandson.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jack Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.
