LYDIA EGGERS

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Lydia J. Eggers, 91, of Perryville died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born Nov. 11, 1909, at Farrar, Mo., daughter of Gottlieb and Martha Mangels Versemann. She and Walter A. Eggers were married April 16, 1933. He died May 5, 1972.

Eggers was a member of Salem Lutheran Church at Farrar, and charter member of its Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Survivors include four sons, Calvin Eggers of Pittsburgh, Pa., Richard Eggers of Florissant, Mo., Fred Eggers of Farrar, Carl Eggers of Perryville; a daughter, Martha Haertling of Perryville; a sister, Frances Bruss of Brentwood, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and seven sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and 8 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Salem Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Robert Schneider officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
