MATTHEWS -- Funeral service for Lydia A. Eddy of Matthews will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Shelton Peeler will officiate, assisted by Edsel Wylie and Neal Wagley. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until service time.
Eddy, 93, died Sunday, May 17, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 17, 1898, in Morrilton, Ark., daughter of Louis N. and Lydia Moore Venis. She married William Oscar Eddy Feb. 8, 1914, in Atkins, Ark. He died Aug. 18, 1969.
Survivors include a son, J.D. Eddy of Sikeston; a daughter, Louise Mainord of Matthews; seven grandchildren, including three she reared in her home, Marilyn Coe of Delano, Tenn., William "Sonny" Eddy of New Madrid, Mary Lowman of Cabot, Ark.; 21 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and two sisters.
