JACKSON -- Luther Marion Slinkard, 87, of Jackson, died at The Woodlands Health Care Center in The Woodlands, Texas. He was born March 4, 1907, at Jackson, son of Marion V. and Gertrude L. Day Slinkard. He and Genevieve Lindy were married Sept. 25, 1926, in St. Louis. She died May 4, 1993...

JACKSON -- Luther Marion Slinkard, 87, of Jackson, died at The Woodlands Health Care Center in The Woodlands, Texas.

He was born March 4, 1907, at Jackson, son of Marion V. and Gertrude L. Day Slinkard. He and Genevieve Lindy were married Sept. 25, 1926, in St. Louis. She died May 4, 1993.

Slinkard was an international representative with UAW-CIO. He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church, East Gate Lodge 630 AF-AM-AL in Kansas City, Scottish Rite, and Ararat Shriners Temple in Kansas City.

Survivors include a son, Robert Slinkard of The Woodlands; a half sister, Clara Brown of St. Louis; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and a half brother.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m. today.

Graveside service will be at 9:15 a.m. Sunday at Russell Heights Cemetery, with the Rev. Otto Steinhaus officiating.
