Luther Alexander Leazenby, 86, of Marble Hill died Friday, Oct. 31, 1997, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services in Cape Girardeau
He was born July 6, 1911, near Arbor, son of Joseph and Ethel Proffer Leazenby. He and Eva Schlimme were married in 1949.
Leazenby was a farmer. In his early years he attended the Fairview General Baptist Church. Later, he was a member of the Randles Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Doyle W. Leazenby of Marble Hill, Bill Leazenby of Huntingburg, Ind., and Dayton Leazenby of New Orleans; two daughters, Sharon Alpers and Carol Deckard, both of Jackson; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 4:30 p.m. to 8 on Sunday at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Jack Owens officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery near Arbor.
