PUXICO -- Funeral service for Lura Skidmore of Puxico will be held at 11 a.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Puxico. The Revs. Ray Placher and Kenneth Lambert will officiate, with burial in Puxico Cemetery.
Skidmore, 89, died Saturday, March 2, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 7, 1906, in Puxico, daughter of George "Mack" and Sarah Ramsey Rollman. She and Harry Skidmore were married Aug. 1, 1942, in Hillsboro. He died Aug. 8, 1974.
Skidmore moved to St. Louis in 1924, returning to Puxico in 1972. She worked at Melrose Pizza 40 years. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary 7822 in Puxico.
Survivors include two sons, Ed Koppman of Wappapello, Jerry "Pete" Koppman of Puxico; two granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
