ANNA, Ill. -- Lura Howerton, 94, of Anna, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1992, at Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born near Anna Aug. 9, 1897, daughter of Gordon and Emma Granay Hileman. She was married to Frank Howerton Sept. 21, 1913. He preceded her in death Dec. 23, 1971...

ANNA, Ill. -- Lura Howerton, 94, of Anna, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1992, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born near Anna Aug. 9, 1897, daughter of Gordon and Emma Granay Hileman.

She was married to Frank Howerton Sept. 21, 1913. He preceded her in death Dec. 23, 1971.

She was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and the Royal Neighbors of America.

Survivors include a son, Collin Howerton of Buncombe; brothers, Fred Hileman of Anna and Roy Hileman of Vienna; sister, Mrs. Gladys Jones of Anna; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and five great, great grandchildren.

Service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna, with Rev. Gene Hart officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.

Friend may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today and until time of service Monday.
