ADVANCE -- Lula Jane Hawkins, 93, of Advance died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at Advance Nursing Center. She was born March 21, 1904, in Bloomfield, Ind., daughter of Harvey Kirk and Melinda Holtsclaw. She and Charles Hawkins Sr. were married Jan. 4, 1930. He died Jan. 17, 1992...

ADVANCE -- Lula Jane Hawkins, 93, of Advance died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at Advance Nursing Center.

She was born March 21, 1904, in Bloomfield, Ind., daughter of Harvey Kirk and Melinda Holtsclaw. She and Charles Hawkins Sr. were married Jan. 4, 1930. He died Jan. 17, 1992.

Hawkins was a member of Brownwood General Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Charles Hawkins Jr. of Advance; a daughter, Bonnie Harmon of St. Louis; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Keith Price and Gary Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.
