EAST PRAIRIE -- Lula Belle Jethro, 83, of the Pinhook community near East Prairie, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1992, at East Prairie Nursing Center.

She was born Aug. 10, 1909, at McComb, Miss., daughter of Adaline and West Robie. She married Charlie Jethro in 1929, who died in 1965.

Jethro was a member of Union Baptist Church at Pinhook.

Survivors include four daughters, Ella Fullilove of Chicago, Mary Williams of East Prairie, Rose Johnson and Willie Brown of Carbondale, Ill.; three sons, the Rev. Thomas Jethro of Decatur, Ill., Charlie Jethro Jr. of Chicago, Charles Jethro of Carbondale; 48 grandchildren, and 54 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons and two daughters.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Union Baptist Church. The Rev. Rudolph Alexander will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday at the church from 11 a.m. to service time.

Sparks Funeral Home at Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
