SIKESTON -- Lula B. Higgerson, 86, of Sikeston, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 5, 1906, at New Madrid, daughter of John Wesley and Ida Belle Joiner Keene. She and Harold Higgerson were married Dec. 20, 1924, in New Madrid County. He died Sept. 6, 1973.
Higgerson was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church, and honorary member of United Auto Workers 659 in Flint, Mich.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth and Harold Higgerson Jr. of New Madrid; three daughters, Freeda LeGrand of Port Charlotte, Fla., Verla Wheeler of Cape Girardeau, Emma Coburn of Arcadia, Fla.; two brothers, Lloyd Keene of Advance, R.L. Keene of Sikeston; a sister, Lois Stowe of Sikeston; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Kelley Grubbs will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
