Luella Armstrong, 92, of Cape Girardeau peacefully passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020, at Capetown Assisted Living at The Arbors in Cape Girardeau. She was born Aug. 5, 1927, in Fornfelt, now Scott City, to William E. and Elsie Beckett Anderson. She and Russell Armstrong were married July 29, 1945, at Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death March 4, 1982...

Luella Armstrong, 92, of Cape Girardeau peacefully passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020, at Capetown Assisted Living at The Arbors in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 5, 1927, in Fornfelt, now Scott City, to William E. and Elsie Beckett Anderson. She and Russell Armstrong were married July 29, 1945, at Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death March 4, 1982.

She was a graduate of Fornfelt High School.

She was a 4-H leader for many years, where she taught foods and went on many trips. She was also member and former president of Cape Rock Eastern Star. She was very active with United Commercial Travelers, where she was involved with many charity projects over the years.

She was a homemaker on the family's Silver Springs farm, where they raised their three children. She enjoyed canning and tending to her vegetable garden.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was also a member of the women's circle.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Bill) Shull of Arlington, Tennessee; son, Steven Armstrong of Cape Girardeau; and granddaughter, Sarah O'Brien of Memphis, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Diane Armstrong Hogan; one sister; and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
