LUDWIG WELKER

PERRYVILLE -- Ludwig W. Welker, 86, of Perryville died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 26, 1912, at Perryville, son of Frank J. and Barbara Ann Blechle Welker. He and Gertrude Mary Buchheit were married Nov. 19, 1935, at Apple Creek.

Welker had been a farmer, and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Harold Welker of Perryville, Raymond Welker of Eureka; five daughters, Clarita Pingel of Manchester, Laverne Henneke of Perryville, Marie Welker of Chesterfield, Barbara Modde of St. Charles, Linda Biri of Jackson; 22 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, six sisters, a grandchild, and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 6:30-9:50 a.m. The parish wake will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, and the rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Monday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent's Church. The Revs. Bradley Modde and Kevin P. Fausz will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
