Lucille Swan, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau where she was lovingly cared for by the staff. She was born March 11, 1918, in Kelso, Mo., to Nicholas and Mary Mirgeaux Menz. She married Blaine Swan on Dec. 9, 1943, in Scott City. He preceded her in death March 1, 2010...

Lucille Swan, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau where she was lovingly cared for by the staff.

She was born March 11, 1918, in Kelso, Mo., to Nicholas and Mary Mirgeaux Menz. She married Blaine Swan on Dec. 9, 1943, in Scott City. He preceded her in death March 1, 2010.

Lucille was a seamstress for Eli Walker for 10 years and Lowenbaum Dress Factory for six years. She had also worked at Nancy's Hat Shop for a year.

She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral.

Survivors include two sisters, Marjorie Littleton of Cape Girardeau and Billie Bohannon of Sikeston, Mo.; nieces Carole (Steve, deceased) Arnzen of Cape Girardeau and Sharon (Larry) Freese of Jackson and their families; and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers; and one sister.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at St. Mary Cathedral.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Patrick Nwokoye officiating.

Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Building Fund.
