Lucille V. Johnson, 90, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Doniphan, Missouri, daughter of John and Ellen Guinn Ashcraft. She and Gene Johnson were married in June of 1971. He passed away March 10, 2000.
Lucille attended Freewill Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. She formerly lived in Marble Hill, Missouri, and Jackson and had lived in Cape Girardeau for four years. She worked at the former Deal Nursing Home in Jackson for 14 years.
Loving survivors include two daughters, Kay Bell of Cape Girardeau and Jessie Kimbel of Jackson; a son, Gale (Carol) Deckard of Pocahontas; seven grandchildren, Dennis Kimbel, Cindy (Albert) Arnzen, Shannan (Randy) Pogue, Shiela Bumann, Misty Bell, Justin Williams, and Marie Kluesner; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Vernon Long officiating.
Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
The family suggests that memorials be given to the choice of the donor.
