COBDEN, Ill. -- Lucille W. Hunsaker, 97, of Cobden died Monday, May 21, 2001, at City Care Center in Anna, Ill. She was born Sept. 5, 1903, in New Athens, Ill., daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth Schmidt Scherer. She and Dan W. Hunsaker were married Dec. 24, 1924, in Jackson County, Ill. He died Jan. 29, 1962...

COBDEN, Ill. -- Lucille W. Hunsaker, 97, of Cobden died Monday, May 21, 2001, at City Care Center in Anna, Ill.

She was born Sept. 5, 1903, in New Athens, Ill., daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth Schmidt Scherer. She and Dan W. Hunsaker were married Dec. 24, 1924, in Jackson County, Ill. He died Jan. 29, 1962.

Hunsaker was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Donald Hunsaker of Murphysboro, Ill.; a sister, Nettie Hesley of Little Rock, Ark.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

There is no visitation.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale, Ill.

Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home of Cobden is in charge of arrangements.
