CHARLESTON -- Lon Thomas "L.T." Howard, 80, of Charleston, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 1995, at Charleston Manor.

He was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Cape Girardeau, son of Emery J. and Clara Edith Kinder Howard. He and Willie Barnhill were married May 20, 1938.

Howard lived in Ulysses, Kan., a number of years. He was noxious weed supervisor with Grant County, retiring in 1980, and had also farmed. He returned to Charleston in 1984, and was a member of First Baptist Church here.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lonnie Howard of Bremerton, Wash., Gary Howard of Boulder, Colo.; a sister, Maxine Taylor of Charleston, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
