Loyd William Smith, 87, of Scott City died Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 9, 1930, in Dupo, Illinois, to John Henry and Mary Elizabeth Lynn Smith.
Loyd was retired from the U.S. Army and had served in the Korean War.
After retiring from the Army, he was a salesman for Schott Electric and Cape Electric.
He is survived by two brothers, Tom and Jim Smith of Scott City, and a sister, Mary Lee Davis of Scott City.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel with the Rev. Larry Rouse officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
