DEXTER -- Loyd M. Edwards, 75, of Dexter died Saturday, Feb. 24, 1996, at Vintage Village Nursing Center in Dexter.
He was born July 1, 1920, at Dexter to Ernest and Mabel Jarrell Edwards. He married Opal Cornelison on June 4, 1943.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired from Kenner Gravel Company, where he worked for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Roger Edwards of Dexter; three daughters, Marylyn Cagle of Poplar Bluff, Ruth Ann Mann of McClure, Ill., and Vicky Corlew of Dexter; two brothers, Floyd Edwards of Dexter and Junior Edwards of Bloomfield; one sister, Opal Stickles of Dexter; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, one brother and two sisters.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Service will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Mike Cochran and the Rev. Tim Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Dexter Cemetery.
