LOWELL BERRONG

McGEE -- Funeral for Lowell E. Berrong of McGee will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. Larry Underwood and Roy Haynie will officiate. Burial will be in Berrong Cemetery at Gipsy.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:30-8 p.m. today.

Berrong, 77, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis.

He was born Jan. 9, 1922, at McGee, son of Odis and Stella Walker Berrong. He and Christine Walk were married April 12, 1946, at Poplar Bluff.

Lowell was a retired farmer. He was a trustee of Berrong Cemetery Association, and member of Shady Dell Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Brenda Rank of St. Peters, Christia Young of McGee, Pamela Berrong of McGee; three brothers, Eugene Berrong of St. Peters, Elvie Berrong of St. Ann, Bobbie Berrong of Advance; a sister, Neola Haynie of Advance; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.
