LOVAH SNELL

THEBES, Ill. -- Funeral for Lovah Virginia Snell of Thebes Route 1 will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The Rev. Bill Raby will officiate, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. today.

Snell, 89, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at Jackson Manor in Jackson, Mo.

She was born April 28, 1909, at Gale, daughter of James Carroll and Clara Walker Phillips. She and Robert B. Snell were married Feb. 25, 1928, in Cairo.

Snell was a member of Gale Church of God.

Survivors include her husband; a nephew reared by the family, James Phillips; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; three great-stepgrandchildren; and three great-great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, seven brothers and three sisters.
