SIKESTON, Mo. -- Louvie Harris, 81, of Sikeston died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Ridgely, Tenn., daughter of Will and Allie Howell Harris. She and Joseph Lee Harris were married Nov. 14, 1936. He died Oct. 15, 1981...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Louvie Harris, 81, of Sikeston died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Ridgely, Tenn., daughter of Will and Allie Howell Harris. She and Joseph Lee Harris were married Nov. 14, 1936. He died Oct. 15, 1981.

Harris lived in the Wyatt, Mo., area most of her life. She worked at Burkart Foam Inc. in Cairo, Ill., retiring in 1984. She was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church near Sikeston.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Harris of Jackson, Mo., Bob Harris of Sikeston; two daughters, Melba Whitney of Virginia Beach, Va., Sheila Clark of Sikeston; five brothers, Ivory Harris of Wyatt, William Harris of Sikeston, James Harris of Miner, Mo., Frank Harris of Flint, Mich., Cleveland "Bob" Harris of Bertrand, Mo.; a sister, Mary Johnson of Sikeston; eight grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo., after 11:30 a.m. Friday.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lloyd Latham officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
