Lourine King was born Sept. 26, 1926, in St. Louis. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Scott City. Lourine King was born Sept. 26, 1926, in St. Louis.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Scott City. Community involvement included PTO (president 1976-77), chairperson for Cub Scouts Pack 220, treasurer of the Bicentennial Celebration in Scott City, Red Cross flood relief volunteer and chairwoman of the Cystic Fibrosis Campaign (1975-76). She was nominated for Scott City's Woman of the Year in 1977.

A highlight of her employment history was the time spent as a Hertz Rental Car agent at Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.

Survivors include her six children, Cynthia R. King of Cape Girardeau, Marie (John) Covilli of St. Charles, Missouri, Farron (Theresa) King of Kelso, Missouri, Paula (Mark) Castleman of Cape Girardeau, Jack (Maria) King of Universal City, Texas, and Martin King of Pocahontas. Surviving grandchildren include Alisha (Seth) Walter, Lauren Castleman, Alex King, Adam King, John A.Covilli, Brendon Covilli and Hunter King.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Scott City. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. Joseph Weidenbenner at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Scott City.
