CAIRO, Ill. -- Louise Winstead, 93, of New Orleans, La., died Thursday, June 8, 1995, at St. Ann's Nursing Home in New Orleans.
She was born Jan. 14, 1902, in Hopkinsville, Ky., daughter of Cave and Nellie Ford Johnson. She married John Winstead, who died in 1967.
Formerly of Cairo, Winstead had been a telephone operator with Illinois Bell Telephone Co. She was a member of Cairo Baptist Church, VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries in Cairo.
Survivors include a daughter, Catherine Rust of New Orleans; two grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Private graveside service will be held Monday at Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds, with Pastor William Voss officiating.
Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
