SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Louise Sunderman, 85, of Springfield passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013. She was born Nov. 20, 1927, at Charleston, Mo., to Ben and Mary Stricker. She and Melvin Sunderman were married April 8, 1953. They moved to Springfield in 1970 from Cape Girardeau. She retired in 1988 with emeritus status from Southwest Missouri State University Health Center. She was an active member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church...

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Louise Sunderman, 85, of Springfield passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013.

She was born Nov. 20, 1927, at Charleston, Mo., to Ben and Mary Stricker. She and Melvin Sunderman were married April 8, 1953.

They moved to Springfield in 1970 from Cape Girardeau. She retired in 1988 with emeritus status from Southwest Missouri State University Health Center. She was an active member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.

Survivors include three children, Joe (Donna) of Elkland, Mo., Cathy (Tom) Schwegel of Nesbit, Miss., and Mary of Springfield; four grandchildren, Jacob (Jessica) Schwegel of Olive Branch, Miss., Chad (Suzanne) Sunderman of Nixa, Mo., Carrie (Bret) Lipscomb of Nesbit and Casey Sunderman of Rogersville, Mo.; five great-grandsons, Cade and Cohen Sunderman, Finley and Lincoln Schwegel and Sylas Lipscomb; and a sister, Isabelle Kirn of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters and three brothers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. today at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, with Monsignor Thomas Reidy as celebrant.

Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
