SIKESTON -- Funeral for Bertha Louise Scism of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Robert Burnes will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Scism, 61, died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 30, 1938, at Parma, daughter of Burley and Ruby Russell Flanigan. She married James Scism.

Scism was a waitress in St. Louis before moving to Sikeston in 1969.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Wells of Sikeston, Brenda Coffman of St. Louis; her mother of Sikeston; two brothers, Wayne Flanigan of Oran, Harold Flanigan of Eureka; three sisters, Carol Cook of Piedmont, Jane Parks of Imperial, Vina Burton of Sikeston; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a friend, Margie Todd of Sikeston.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
