Louise Caroline Sanders, 94, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Chateau Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 2, 1917, in Brownville, Neb., daughter of Kenneth and Amelia Clary Young. She and Reece Watson Sanders were married Aug. 12, 1939, in Brownville.
Louise was a member of First Christian Church. She received a teaching certificate from Peru (Nebraska) State College, and later completed bachelor of science and master degrees in education at Southeast Missouri State University. She taught eighth grade reading at Central Junior High many years, retiring in 1978.
Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Reece; two sons, Laurence (Cathy) of St. Charles, Mo., David (Donna) of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Doug Sanders of St. Charles, Marcia Voges (Chad) of St. Peters, Mo., Ashlei Sterling (John), Trenton Sanders and Kristyn Sanders, all of Cape Girardeau; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Laurence.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 25 at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
A memorial service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
