Louise Eunice Mueller (affectionately known as "Lou"), 73, passed away at her home in Cape Girardeau on Friday, June 8, 2001, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her family and many special, dear friends will miss her loving smile and warm humor.
She was born on November 13, 1927, in Holcomb, Missouri, daughter of Thomas Monroe and Lola Vaughn Harris. She and Jerome L. Keel were married on February 14, 1946. They later divorced. She worked as a telephone operator in the Missouri towns of Lilbourn, Oran and Patton before going to work for Southwestern Bell in Cape Girardeau in 1954. She and Edward E. Mueller were married on May 17, 1957, in St. Louis, Missouri. He passed away May 17, 1997.
After 25 years of service, Ms. Mueller retired from Southwestern Bell in 1979. She became a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant in 1984. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid, Telephone Pioneers, VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie; her sister, Carene Harris Latimer; her mother, Lola Windeknecht; her brother, Jerry Don Harris; her stepfather, Ben Windeknecht; and her father, Thomas M. Harris.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Vogelsang of Jackson; her grandchildren, Mollie Miranda and her husband, Paul, of Jackson; Aaron Vogelsang of Cape Girardeau; Carly Vogelsang of Jackson; her brother, Thomas L. Harris of Marble Hill; and special cousins, nieces, neighbors and friends.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel Monday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral service will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. The Rev. David Dissen will officiate, with entombment in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
