Louise Mary Kester, 89, of Jackson passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 12, 1932, in Friedheim, daughter of Ferd and Mary Bequette Kester.
Louise babysat and worked for General Electric in St. Louis for several years. Later, she moved to California and worked as a beautician until returning to Jackson in 1989.
Loving survivors include brothers, Pearl James (Norma) Kester of Jackson, Monroe Kester of Bloomsdale, Missouri, and George (Leona) Kester and Willie (Janet) Kester of Friedheim; sisters, Mary L. Williams of Jackson, Sediala (Roy) Wilke of House Springs, Missouri, Sharon (Glenn) Bodenschatz of Oak Ridge and Carol Miller of Washington, Missouri.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mabel Blankenship; and niece, Doris Wilke.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Elijah Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to Southeast Missouri Food Bank, P.0. Box 190, Sikeston, MO 63801 or to Southeast Health Foundation Cancer Fund, 1701 Lacey, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
